Introduction
trans-miyabenol C is a benzofuran-derived stilbenoid that is a homotrimer obtained by cyclotrimerisation of resveratrol. It has a role as a plant metabolite, an antioxidant, a serotonergic antagonist, an apoptosis inducer, an protein kinase C inhibitor and an antineoplastic agent. It is a member of 1-benzofurans, a polyphenol and a stilbenoid. It derives from a trans-resveratrol.
