Overview | Bovine serum albumin, abbreviated as BSA, has an extremely wide range of laboratory applications and is often used as a blocking agent in immunoassays, including ELISA and WB (Western Blot). As a carrier protein, cross-linking with haptens and other weak antigens can make them more immunogenic in antibody production. In restriction enzyme digestion reactions, BSA is often used as a reaction stabilizer for some enzymes and prevents it from adhering to the tube wall and tip. |
